About Summit Motor Company

In the highly populated market of used car sales, you may be wondering what makes us different to the rest? What are we all about, what is our USP, and why should you choose us over any other used car dealer in 2026?

Summit Motor Company is founded by a small team consisting of Brad, Danny, and Dan. Before launching Summit, we all worked together in the motor trade industry.

We believe that there is no other dealer out there selling sub-£7,000 cars that have as much attention to detail and care put into their preparation than we do with our cars. It is a wrongfully neglected part of the industry - just because the car isn’t a shiny new £20,000+ German model doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get the same care & attention put into the preparation of your new car and the service you receive when you buy from us.

So you may be wondering what it is that we do to ensure we deliver high quality vehicles and an even higher level of customer service?

Background checks 🕵️‍♂️
Before we even consider buying a car in for stock, it has to have a relatively clean MOT history and a good service record. These are the two main factors that determine if a car has been cherished or not so loved. We also run HPI checks on all cars we are looking to bring in to ensure that they have never been crashed, stolen, or mileage clocked.

Viewing checks 🔍
Once we have decided to view a car, we carry out in-depth checks to ensure everything checks out. This includes a thorough check over the mechanical and cosmetic components, and a lengthy test drive.

PDI 📋
Once the car is back at base, we carry out a PDI (Post Delivery Inspection). This consists of putting the car on a 2-post lift and going through the car top to bottom to check for any work that may be required to get it retail ready.

MOT ✅
When assessing a car’s MOT, we have a set criteria that we follow:

- Should the car have an MOT shorter than 9 months, we will always put it through a new test so the car is supplied with a full 12 month ticket. If any advisories are picked up, they are rectified by us prior to sale.
- Should the car have an MOT longer than 9 months but have any advisories, we will get these rectified prior to sale.

Essentially, this means that you will always have a minimum of a 9 month advisory-free MOT on any car supplied by us.

Servicing 🛠️
Part of our PDI process is to determine whether a car needs a fresh service. If one of our cars was last serviced over 4000 miles or 6 months ago, we will carry out a full engine service in house prior to sale.

Full valet 🧼
The final stage to our prep is the full valet. This can take anywhere from 2 hours to 2 days! We clean the car top to bottom for that showroom fresh impression!

You may have noticed that there is a common theme in our prep-process - that most things are done in house. We are a small team down here at Summit, and like to get stuck in to getting the cars ready ourselves as much as possible. It’s incredibly satisfying for us to see the end product after our hard work, and to know that the cars we are selling are top quality. It makes us that bit prouder to sell the cars when we know it's our own effort that's gone into the prep.

We also offer a vehicle sourcing service - so if you are looking for a specific car that we don’t currently have in stock, we have the contacts and platforms to find you your perfect car.

So, what are you waiting for? Get in touch with us today!
